Sarah Harris (City and County of Honolulu, Office of Climate Change, Sustainability, and Resiliency)

I am the Hazard Mitigation and Long-Term Disaster Recovery Program Manager at the City and County of Honolulu Office of Climate Change, Sustainability, and Resiliency. My primary responsibilities are to coordinate the actions and policies of the city to reduce the loss of life and property. I work closely with Dr. Miku Lenentine and the Kapiʻolani Community College’s Center for Resilient Neighborhoods (CERENE) on the Action 15 Resilience Hub project. I am passionate about helping communities become more resilient through action, creative problem solving, and partnerships. I am an experienced planning professional with a demonstrated history of working in the construction management and consulting industries. I am skilled in land use planning and policy, GIS, climate change and adaptation strategies, hazard mitigation, FEMA programs, and environmental review. I am a strong research professional with a M.S. in Applied Geospatial Sciences with an emphasis in Planning and Recreation and a graduate certificate in Community Planning from Northern Arizona University.
