Dingyi Liu (Action 15 Graduate Research Assistant)

Aloha, my name is Dingyi Liu. I live within O’ahu’s Neighborhood Board #6, Palolo. I was born and raised in Leshan, China. I came to Hawai’i for college in 2018 and received a B.S. in Global Environmental Science and a GIS certificate from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in 2022. My primary interests include climate change adaptation, transportation planning, and environmental planning. My research evaluates the impact of environmental change on coastal communities and landscapes using spatial analysis. Currently, I am pursuing an M.A. in urban planning at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and working as a CERENE Action 15 Graduate Research Assistant specializing in web mapping. I hope to explore smart city ideas for disaster management during my graduate studies.
