Hi, my name is Dr. Robert Franco, and I live within O’ahu’s Neighborhood Board #1, Hawaii Kai. For over 30 years, I have worked as an ecological and demographic anthropologist, focusing on contemporary Hawaiian, Samoan, and Pacific Islander educational, employment, health, environmental, and cultural issues. I am currently serving as the Coordinator of the Service-Learning Emphasis and as the Director for the Office for Institutional Effectiveness at Kapiʻolani Community College (KCC), University of Hawaiʻi (UH). In these roles, I am able to bridge the cultures of faculty and administration and shape an innovative indigenous, intercultural, and international campus culture. I am involved with strategic and long-term planning, grant writing, and grant development. My additional responsibilities include institutional research, assessment and evaluation, and accreditation.
