Aloha, my name is Hailey Aina and I live within O’ahu’s Neighborhood Board #15, Kalihi-Palama. I am interested in architecture, books, and nature. I am especially passionate about taking care of the ʻāina and learning ways to better support our communities. As part of my work with the CERENE Resilience Corps Leaders (RCLs), I will be building a trellis at Māla Māunuunu, which will be used to grow bottle gourds (Lagenaria Siceraria) or ipu. I will be gathering and building in a similar manner to that which my ancestors did, and I can’t wait to share it all with you.
