Lēʻahi (Diamond Head) 🌳 Community Biocultural Forest Restoration Work Day!

Muriel Flanders Park and the Diamond Head Scenic Byway (mauka side) and semi-wilderness area is a community-led biocultural restoration site within the Lēʻahi (Diamond Head) landscape. Through the DLNR Division of State Parks Adopt-A-Park Program, the Diamond Head State Monument Foundation, Kapiʻolani Community College Sustainability and Service Learning Program, and the CERENE Resilience Program work alongside community volunteers to support ecological restoration, fire mitigation, cultural learning, and ongoing care for this special place. Please join us for our upcoming workday to continue this awesome effort!

This mele, inspired by the legendary places surrounding Kapi‘olani Community College, is chanted for setting off on a journey and used at graduation. It is also chanted to introduce the area and people representing the College. It was written by Nawa’a Napolean and is our oli we share to open the space and greet Lēʻahi at the start of our workdays.
