Lomani Rova (Resilience Research Corps Leader)

Aloha and Bula Vinaka! My name is Lomani Rova. I live within O’ahu’s Neighborhood Board #5, Diamond Head (Lēʻahi)-Kapahulu. I am from the Fiji Islands and moved here to Honolulu, Hawai’i last August. I am a Natural Science student at Kapi’olani Community College (KCC), and I want to pursue Marine Biology in the near future. I am interested in ocean conservation, particularly that of the coral reefs, indigenous sciences, and the connection between people and the land (ʻāina). I am also a lover of reading and painting, with oil being my favorite medium. As part of my work with the Resilience Corps Leaders (RCL), I will be exploring the importance and integration of the Native Hawaiian culture in our Community Resilience HUBs. One fun fact you may not know about me is that I am an avid traveler and recently spent six months backpacking in South America.
