Waiakeakua Biocultural Forest Restoration (Back of Mānoa Valley)

Get ready for our upcoming Community Forest Restoration Day every (nearly) Third Sunday!

Location: Waiakeakua Stream Area, Waaloa Pl, Honolulu, HI 96822

When: Third Sundays (usually)

What to Bring:
Reusable water bottle 💧
Closed-toe shoes 👟 that can get muddy. Slippers usually get sucked into the mud
Long Pants (not suggested to wear shorts) – mosquitos!! 🦟🦟🦟
Long Sleeved Shirt (option / even bandana around neck)
Light snacks or something to share 🍌
Bug spray
Sunscreen

Bring your Hoʻokupu:

Offering of flower, plant, gift to leave at altar (we spend quite some time on Native Hawaiian protocol at this site)

Open heart and willingness to connect with ʻāina ❤️

Note – Uncle Bruce has let us know it is important everyone going into the forest participate in the opening protocol. If you don’t feel up to it, please let me know and we can suggest other work sites for you to join that might be a better fit.
