Zachary Gibson (CERENE / HLC Staff)

Zachary Gibson is an CERENE & Hub Learning Community Staff member, an ambassador for the TBSE program, and a veteran of the United States Army. Originally from Phoenix Arizona, he now resides in Mo’ili’ili, under Neighborhood Board No. 8. He is pursuing a degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management with a minor in Economics. With a background in military recruiting and logistics, Zachary has spent significant time abroad cultivating relationships with international communities.

He has had the honor of presenting his research at a few conferences, including the 2025 Continuums of Service Conference at the University of Washington in Seattle, which explored how higher education can honor Indigenous histories, foster community partnerships, and create inclusive environments rooted in place and cultural knowledge.

Dedicated to fostering reciprocity in Hawaiʻi and beyond, his work centers on advancing community-driven solutions that empower the next generation and strengthen connections between local governments and the communities they serve. His research focuses on critical areas, including healthcare, education, food security, and climate change resilience. His work will focus on telehealth acceptability and aid in creating the Emergency Operation Plan with the Marshall Islands.
