Hub Learning Community : Resilient Corps Leaders Program Expectations

Stipend amounts vary from 1K to up to 1.2K based on time commitments and final project scope
Expected time commitment is 2-3 hours per week

The HLC Resilience Corps Leader Program connects students with Oʻahu resilience hubs to support local preparedness and community resilience. Students spend an average of 2–3 hours per week supporting a hub, participate in monthly leadership sessions, and complete a resilience training. Each student contributes to a community service or research project, documents what they learn, and presents their work at SURF or a community event.

Resilience Corps Leaders are expected to:

  • Participate in required leadership trainings = 1 zoom session per month
  • Complete one paid resilience training per semester (ex. FEMA Training)
  • Support an HLC Resilience Hub by volunteering 2-3 hours per week on average
  • Contribute meaningfully to a community resilience service or research project.
  • Present final project at SURF / Community Event
  • Act professionally, respectfully, and responsibly when representing CERENE and Kapiʻolani Community College.
  • Document service, learning, and project accomplishments.
  • Complete all required program assignments and final deliverables by the established deadlines.
  • BONUS! Attend the Neighborhood Board Training and join in a NHB Meeting for your area
  • DOUBLE BONUS! Present a 3 minute scripted update at e NHB Meeting ($100 Extra Stipend) – Training and Participation in at least 1 prior meeting required

Students who successfully complete all program requirements will receive the Resilience Corps Leadership Award stipend and hours will also be contributed towards the 100 Hours of Resilience
