Alii and Aloha! My name is Macy Mekilt Nagata and I am from the beautiful islands of Belau! I am an intern with CERENE through the Hawai’i DLIR Hele Imua Internship Program. I studied at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, where I received my bachelor’s degrees in Pacific Islands Studies and Sustainability. I live within Oahu’s Neighborhood Board #8, McCully-Mō’ili’ili. I am passionate about the interweaving of Pasifika identity into addressing environmental challenges, Indigenous policy, and art. Outside of CERENE, I love to go beach, spend time with family, call my friends, or go on solo sidequests!
